My name is Duncan Thompson, hailing from the (not so) tropical climates of Burnley, East Lancashire. I am based in the East End of Glasgow, Scotland. I would say I’m something of a chippy connoisseur whilst also strongly debating the one true name for a roll (It’s a teacake).

Specialising in documentary photography based around social issues and representation of communities within the UK.

I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2021 with a First Class BA (Hons) in Photography.

Part Time Sales Assistant

Hayhursts Camera Shop in Nelson was a well known establishment set up in the 1920’s and was one of the major film developing labs and camera shops in the area until the 1980’s. The shop no longer trades as of January 2020. Working as a retail assistant, I was in charge of customer service, developing and scanning customers film using a FujiFilm Frontier Scanner and Noritsu Qsf V30 film processor. Alongside this, I learnt about minor film camera repairs and how to use an Epson large format printer.
